Karan Sawhney Biography 
Karan Sawhney is an Indian professional footballer from Mumbai who has participated in the early seasons of Indian Super league football. He has played for Salgaocar and DSK Shivajians club, before he joined Kerala Blasters in the previous season of Indian Super league football. He has also played for Bengaluru FC and Mumbai in i-league before. Yet Karan came to spotlight and earned popularity after becoming a team member of Kerala blasters during 2017-2018 season, when he played as a striker for his team.
His full name is Karan Atul Sawhney. He was born on 23 March 1992 in Mumbai. He grew up playing football and cricket in the streets of Mumbai, and he loved both. He also practised at beaches of Mumbai. But when he got a call from India’s one of the most popular footballs of India, he didn’t take a second call. Thus he joined Mahindra United’s U13 side as a junior player. From there, his journey to one of the key members of Kerala blasters was just amazing.
He went on to represent the state and excelled in his forward position. His excellence in sports earned him the ‘captain’ designation and he guided Maharashtra U16 side for a few matches later. When Karan was 16 years old he made the cut into Jharkhand’s renowned Tata Football Academy. He spent the next four years at TFA. It was not a regular college life and he spent his time in the dormitories at Jamshedpur, where he trained day and night. Football was his top priority, and in 2012 he signed for Salgaocar FC at the age of 20.
He was loaned out to DSK Shivajians, and later signed by Bengaluru FC for the 2013-14 I-League season. He was restricted to just three starts in the season. He played for his hometown club Mumbai FC during 2016-17 season and bagged three goals in six appearances for them, and finally scored a contract with Kerala Blasters FC.
