Indra Soundar Rajan is a prominent writer belonging to Tamil literature known for writing ghost stories and thrillers. He writes screenplays, TV serials, novels, plays, short story collections etc. His real name is P. Soundar Rajan. An expert on South Indian Hindu traditions and mythological lore, he is a full-time writer. He has done more than 300 episodes of the show, "Kanchiyin Karunai" aired on Podhigai TV. He publishes crime thrillers frequently in Crime Story and Today Crime News. He is best known for writing on mystery, ghost stories & folklore, Supernatural Thrillers etc.

Indra Soundar Rajan was born on November 13, 1958 in Salem, Tamil Nadu. Rajan is known for many thrillers as well as TV shows. He has scripted many TV serials for Tamil television, which include – Athipookal, Rudram, Marmadesam - Edhuvum Nadakkum, Marmadesam-Vidaathu Karuppu, Krishnadasi, Marma Desam, Marmadesam - Sorna Regai, Nagamma, Sivamayam, Puguntha Veedu and Sivaragasyam. Television serials, screenplays, short stories and novels – he has tried with different genres of writing and succeeded in all these.

Some of his popular fiction works include - Pallavan Pandiyan Baskaran, Nandi Ragasiyam, Kan Simittum Ratthinakkal, Ragaisyamaai Oru Ragasiyam, Mahadeva Ragasiyam, Neelakkal Modiram etc. He wrote the screenplays of Sringaram, Anandha Purathu Veedu etc. He is a popular writer of ghost stories, and ghosts and vamps used to be regular in his stories. reincarnation, supernatural powers, fantasy etc are a few more. He also writes based on real life incidents as well as folklore. A few of his published books are now available online. Very often his short stories and novels have been adapted for drama serials too.
