Chekrovolu Swuro Biography 
Chekrovolu Swuro is an Indian archer from Dimapur, Nagaland. She has represented India at different international games including 2012 Summer Olympics, 2002 Asian Games and 2006 Asian Games. She was a team member of 2011 World Archery Championships which won silver medal for India. Thus she represented India at 2012 Summer Olympics in both women's individual and team archery. She is only the second athlete from Nagaland after Talimeren Ao to qualify after 64 long years! Thus she is a role model for young Nagas. For her outstanding contributions to the field of sports she was awarded with Arjuna Award in the year 2013. She serves as Deputy Superintendent of police in the Nagaland Armed Police at present.
Swuro lives in Dimapur, Nagaland. She was born in 21 November 1982. Her elder sister Vesuzolu S.Vadeo is also an Indian archer who played at National level. Since young she had a burning desire to see her picture published in the newspaper, and she chose archery. She spent more than 20 years in the practice of the game. She received professional training under Korean world champion Lee Wang Woo. She started playing at the late 1990s and later played for India in the early 2000s.
In 2001 she reached the quarter final of 12th Asian Archery Championship held at Hong Kong. Since then she represented India at Asian Championships and managed to reach the finals several times. In the 14th Asian Games held at Korea in 2002, she reached the quarter finals. In 2005 she was a member of Asian Archery Championship held at New Delhi. From there on, she became an important female figure of Indian archery. After Talimeren Ao, who captained the Indian football team in its first official game at the 1948 London Games, she became the second athlete from Nagaland to represent India at Olympian games.
