Asmita Sood Biography

Asmita Sood is an upcoming actress of south Indian cinema who made her acting debut with Telugu film Brammigadi Katha released in 2011. She is a model turned actress and has endorsed more than 40 brand products. The girl from Shimla - in 2013 debut both Kannada and Malayalam film industries. She debut Malayalam with anthology film – 5 Sundarikal, where she appeared in the segment Aami. She played the lead role of Aami in the segment directed by Anwar Rasheed, where she played the wife’s role of present youth sensation, Fahadh Faasil. Same year she debut Kannada with ‘Victory’.



Born in Himachal Pradesh, she is a commerce graduate. She started modelling and was a finalist of Miss India Contest 2011. She also participated in Channel V's Get Gorgeous. She has great passion to dance too. As a successful model, she has modeled for Airtel, Vaibhav Jewellers, SBI Credit cards, Uninor, Imagebazaar, Big Bazaar, Coca Cola and Imperial Blue. She has also appeared in television commercials and print ads. She got a call from Bangalore to attend the audition of an upcoming Telugu movie. As she was not familiar with south Indian movies or languages, at first she hesitated. Later the co-ordinator coaxed her and she agreed.



She attended the audition and got selected for the lead role. Telugu movie, Brammigadi Katha in 2011 marked her film debut followed by Aadu Magaadra Bujji. She played the love interest of the actor Varun Sandesh in her debut movie. But she didn’t give any audition for Malayalam movie, where she played the role of a Muslim girl. OK and Aa Aiduguru are her upcoming Telugu flicks. She played the role of Sharan’s wife in her Kannada debut, Victory. Though she is not proficient with south Indian languages, she writes dialogues in Hindi and thus manages the task.
