Aruna Shields Biography

Aruna Shields is a British model who entered Bollywood through the movie, Prince opposite Vivek Oberoi. Her second Indian cinema (Hindi) was ‘Mr Singh Mrs Mehta’, released on 25 June 2010. Aruna is also a dance choreographer and a talented belly dancer. Her ad Lynx /Axe .. Lynx Blow won Campaign Best Ad, 2008. She has become Stage Talent winner for stage performance, Talk of the Town. She holds a distinction in Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Before entering Bollywood she has appeared in a few English movies as well as television serials.

Aruna Shields hails from United Kingdom. She was spotted by an acting agent while she was participating in a theatre workshop. During this time, she was active in theatre as a stage actress for about one year. Later she appeared in feature films, Mission Improbable (2007), Live Bait (1997) and Private Moments (2005), both as lead heroine and supporting actress. She made her Bollywood debut in 2010 with the action thriller, Prince. She was one among the three heroines of the movie. But this big budget movie bombed at box office. Only the songs sung by Atif Aslam got noticed.

Later she appeared in an epic adventure titled, ‘Ao The Last Neanderthal’. In 2010, her second Indian film Mr Singh Mrs Mehta was released. She was paired opposite Prashant Narayanan, which marked directorial debut of Pravesh Bhardwaj. The movie was noticed for the music given by Grammy nominated artist Ustaad Shujaat Hussain Khan. As a television actress, she has worked for a few programs before she entered Bollywood - Uncovering Iran, Breakfast with Frost and Byker Grove. She has also appeared in television commercial of Pantene Pro V.
