WBSIDC was set up in 1961 for extending support and promotion of SSI in the state under the Department of Cottage & Small Scale Industries, Govt. of West Bengal. WBSIDC extends marketing assistance to the SSI units, supply of raw materials and other promotional assistance to the SSI sector making a significant contribution in the economic growth and employment generation in West Bengal.
