Ramakrishna Mission Students Home consists of a Primary Day School, Residential High School and Residential Polytechnic College. The Home is meant only for male orphans and destitutes. They are selected from rural areas of TamilNadu state in India for high school and Polytechnic. Since it is meant only for the poor who cannot afford education, it is absolutely free of cost including lodging, boarding and educational fees. It combines the ancient Gurukala system with modern technology under the care of monks of Ramakrishna Order. It was started in 1905 by Swami Ramakrishnananda, a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna. Currently there are a total of about 700 students in residence.The Home runs on the generous donations provided by philanthropic public and financial institutions.
