Description

During 1974-75, Quaid-e-Millath Govt College for Women replaced the Govt. Arts College for Men at the present location; Anna Salai (Mount Road), Chennai. The Men's college shifted to Nandanam. The Mount Road Arts College was the legacy of Mohameddan Rulers of Wallajah. The Madras Mohamaden College and the Madrasa-e-Azam school for boys functioned from this location. After Independence, Mohamedan College was renamed as Govt. Arts College for Men (1948). The premises is now bifurcated and is occupied by Madrasa-e-Azam school and the Quaid-e-Millath Govt College for Women.
