Pappanamcode is just 5 km from the capital city Thiruvananthapuram. The place is famous for famous engineering college, Sree Chithira Thirunal College of Engineering. The major attractions in and around Pappanamcode include Regional Research Labortary, Nagar Althara, Sree Krishna Swami Temple, Matha Amrithananda mayi math and Karakkamandapam Siva Temple. Sree Chithira Thirunal College of Engineering:
The college was established in 1995. It was one of the top engineering colleges in Kerala. The college offers under graduate programme in Electronic and communicate engineering, Mechanical engineering and Bio technology and Bio chemical engineering. The college offers Post graduate course in Mechanical engineering. The college conducts various community development programmes related to skill development. Various clubs conducted many cultural and technical festivals in this college. The college had a number of students associations they conducted various seminars and cultural activities. Annual day programmes in the college continues four or five days. On that event almost all colleges near the district may participate. Karamana is another attraction near to Pappanamcode. The place is famous for Brahmins family. Karamana River starts from the Agasthyakodam fertile the land. Juma Masjid is another landmark. Karamana the word mana means house and ‘kara’ means on the bank, that means house on the banks of the river. Karamana consists of several streets. The place is also famous for daily market.
