Jakhu Hill is one of the nearby attractions of Shimla and it is located at a height of 2455 meters. This is the highest peak in Shimla from which you can see the beautiful town down. The ancient Jakhu Hanuman Temple is located on the top of the hill.

The Hanuman Mandir is one of the favorite spots of the tourists and there are countless playful monkeys seen here. To reach the top of the hill you have to make a 45 minute walk on the steep slopes. According to Hindu mythology, this temple is in existence from the time of Ramayana and said to be built by Yaaku sage.

All along the hill path, the magnificent view of the surrounding valleys offer feast to the eyes. Keep your cameras, glasses and bags safe from the monkeys. The sticks to ward off the monkeys are available on rent at the entrance of the temple.
