Rumi Darwaza is an imposing gate located outside the Bara Imambara and is a standing example of the Awadhi architecture. This was built in 1784 by Nawab Asaf Ud Dowlah. This is considered to be the gateway of Lucknow. This is sixty feet tall and is modelled on the Sublime Porte of Istanbul. This is the logo of the city of Lucknow. With beautiful arch shape and wonderful decorations, Rumi Darwaza stands majestically to speak of the heritage of its times.
