Indore Museum also known as Central museum holds the relics of the rich civilization of India in pre historic period. The finest collection of Parmar sculptures brought from Hinglajgarh is displayed here together with the best collections of the medieval and pre-medieval era. These sculptures belong to the period of the Guptas to the Paramanas. The sculptures of Harihara, Shiva and Parvati and other architectural remains are preserved here.

 

There are two galleries here among which the first one displays the pre historic artifacts brought from Western Malwa including stone tools, quartz sickles and ornaments. The carvings related to the Hindu mythology are displayed in second gallery. You can also view the collection of coins and armor. The museum is opened on all days except Mondays.
