Jehangir Palace is situated within Agra Fort and was built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar for his son Jehangir. This is the largest private residence within this fort and after Jehangir ascended the throne he made this his residence.

Jehangir Palace is the blend of the Hindu and Central Asian styles of architecture and this is constructed with red sandstone. This two storied building has protruding balconies. The walls and the ceilings are painted in the traditional style of the Rajputs.
