Yatin Karyekar Biography 
Yatin Karyekar is a veteran film actor and one of the popular faces of Bollywood and Marathi cinema, specialized in playing character roles. He has also acted in many television serials, and best known for playing the pivot role of Kamesh Mahadevan, the head of Mahadevan family in the first Indian soap opera – Shanti, aired on Doordarshan in 1994. Among Bollywood films, he is best known for playing the pivot role of Anand Banerjee – the patient cum narrator of Rajkumar Hirani’s blockbuster - Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. He also reprised the same role in its Tamil version starring Kamal Hassan - Vasool Raja MBBS. Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Karthik Calling Karthik, Hey Ram and Iqbal are other noted Bollywood works.
Yatin Karyekar is quite popular as a television actor. He got associated with Doordarshan serials in the early 1990s and is still active with television. He was seen in 1993 detective series, Byomkesh Bakshi before his breakthrough role of negative shaded character Kamesh Mahadevan in Shanti. Since then he played many major character roles for television shows in Hindi and Marathi. Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan, Crime Patrol, Saraswatichandra and Savdhaan India - India Fights Back are some of his Hindi television roles. He was also a part of the first episode of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. He played the role of Jennifer Winget’s father Vidyachatur in Star Plus’ Saraswatichandra, the debut series of Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
His role as Aurangzeb in popular Marathi serial Raja Shivchhatrapati is extremely popular. This actor portrays both positive and negative roles in ease. Among his Bollywood roles, apart from Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., he has been a part of several acclaimed movies like Katha, Hey ram etc. He has been associated with commercial cinema too. Most recently he was seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani.
