Willson Joseph Biography

Willson Joseph is an upcoming Malayalam film actor best known for the bilingual Neram and Premam, both directed by Alphonse Putharen. He played the role of John in Neram (Malayalam version), while he played the role of Jojo in the latest release – Premam. He was also seen in the movies - Malarvadi Arts Club, Last Bench, D31st, Beware of Dogs etc. Just fun Chumma telecasted on Amrita TV is his noted mini screen role where he portrayed the role of Roy Issac (Royichan). He has also appeared in a few short films.

His real name is Siju Wilson and was born and brought up in Aluva, Ernakulam. ‘Neram’ has been an experimental work by debutant director Alphonse Putharen. Many of its cast and crew have studied together or have been friends before making the debut. Willson was one among them. Nivin Pauly was also his classmate since plus one. There was one place named Gogus Cool Bar in Aluva, where Alphonse and his friends used to meet and dream about the art of film making. Willson dreamt about films since early childhood. He also used to see movies a lot. Alphonse, Nivin and Willson have done some stage shows together in their community Church in those teen days.

He was seen in the movie film - Third World Boys, where he played one among the seven friends. Iced tea, Moustache Blues and Kattan Kaappi are his noted short film works. He played the lead role of Shyam in the movie – D 31th, though the movie went unnoticed. The movie was directed by debutant Siva Prasad. Before entering movies, Wilson has been associated with television and was seen in Amrita TV’s Just fun Chumma. Now he is comfortably settled in Mollywood with some substantial roles. He was seen portraying the role of Jojo, who works in coffee shop with Nivin. He entered the world of cinema after quitting his professional job.
