Vysakh Biography

Vysakh is a Malayalam film director known for masala movies. His movies are good entertainers and all his 5 directorial ventures have been commercial hits at box office too, Mallu Singh and Pokkiri Raja being the best instances. His other hits include Sound Thoma, Vishudhan and Seniors. He also wrote screenplay of his latest release Vishudhan (2014). He worked with Kunchakko Boban for three of his releases – Mallu Singh, Seniors and Vishudhan. In the first three years of his career itself he gave three blockbusters as well and they include many big stars of Mollywood like Mammootty, Dileep, Prithviraj, Kunchakko Boban etc.

He was born in Kanhangad town of Kasaragod District, Kerala. He made his film debut in the year 2010 with Pokkiri Raju. The movie witnessed two big actors of Malayalam coming together – Megastar Mammootty and youth icon Prithviraj. The movie was made in a big frame with masala flavours and good songs and it turned to be a huge blockbuster at box office too. The movie had lead Tamil actress Shriya Saran in the lead heroine role. It was Shriya’s debut movie. The movie was later remade to Telugu as Bhai with Nagarjuna Akkineni and Prasanna. The same movie was made to Bollywood with Akshay kumar playing the main lead – Boss (2014).

His second movie was ‘Seniors’ released in 2011. The movie told the story of 4 friends who return back to their campus life after 12 years and the movie starred an ensemble star cast of Jayaram, Kunchacko Boban, Biju Menon and Manoj K. Jayan in the role of 4 friends. This suspense thriller turned to be a blockbuster. ‘Mallu Singh’ gave a Punjabi feel to Malayalam audience while Sound Thoma starring Dileep was a great entertainer.
