Vishakha Singh Biography

Vishakha Singh is a model and actress who works in south Indian movies as well as Hindi. She is also known as a producer. Ashutosh Gowariker's 2010 movie - Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey is her noted Hindi movie, where she played supporting role. For this performance she received a nomination at Stardust Award for Breakthrough Performance – Female. She appeared as one among the leading actresses of Hindi hit – Fukrey released in 2013. 

She was born in Abu Dhabi on May 5, 1987. She did schooling from Abu Dhabi Indian School. She completed her graduation in business studies from Delhi University and post-graduation in advertising and public relations. In 2003 she was spotted by Ashutosh Gowariker. Though he wanted her to do audition for the movie Swadesh, she was too young for the role. She was only 15 then. She started her modelling career 2007 and appeared in many television and print commercials. Same year she debut big screen with Telugu movie, Gnaapakam. But the movie was a commercial failure.

In 2008 she debut Tamil with Pidichirukku and Hindi with Humsey Hai Jahaan. Next year she debut Kannada with Houseful. Through Humsey Hai Jahaan is her debut Hindi movie, Ashutosh Gowariker's 2010 movie - Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey is credited as her debut movie. It was through this movie that she got noticed. Abhijeet Sengupta's Do Aur Do Paanch has not released yet. 

In 2012, she became a film producer. She co-produced the movie, Peddlers, directed by Vasan Bala. The film was selected at the Cannes Critic week at the Cannes Film Festival 2012. Her second production venture was Haramkhor, directed by Shlok Sharma. She is to debut Malayalam with director Rajesh Pillai's forthcoming film Motorcycle Diaries.
