Vichu Vishwanath Biography

Vichu Vishwanath is a film actor who has appeared in Tamil language films. He plays character roles most, and got noticed for comic ones. He played a negative role in his debut flick, and later moved to positive supporting roles. He is a permanent fixture in almost every movie of film director Sundar. C. He made his acting debut in the film, Sandhana Kaatru (1990) and has spent around 3 decades in the industry. His association with director Sundar C began in the year 1996, when they worked together for the film, Murai Maman.

Vichu Vishwanath was born in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. His real name is Viswanathan. His childhood days were spent in his hometown where he completed his studies. His wife’s name is Hemalatha, and the couple has one daughter. He got his first break to films in the year 1990, when he got a small role in the film, Sandhana Kaatru starring Vijayakanth and Gouthami in lead roles. The film was produced by Sengamalam Manivannan, and directed by Manivannan. His character name was Viswanath in this film, and it was a negative role. Sundar C was working as an assistant director to Manivannan during the film making, and they got acquainted.

When Sundar C made his first feature film, Murai Maman in 1996, he offered a role to Vichu. After that Vichu became a permanent fixture in every movie directed by Sundar, and it helped him a lot in his professional career too. Since 2017, he works with Sundar’s television studio, Nandini. Sathuranga Vettai 2, Kalakalappu 2, Kannula Kaasa Kattappa, Muthina Kathirika, Hello Naan Pei Pesuren, Aranmanai 2 are among his recent works in movies. He also appeared in TV shows – Chellamay and    Nandini.
