Vasanth Ravi Biography

Vasanth Ravi is a film actor associated with Tamil cinema. He marked his film debut through the breakthrough lead role he played in 2017 Tamil film, Taramani. The film opened to positive reviews and gradually picked up at box office and became a commercial success. After making an impressive debut, he received numerous awards as well. He won best debut actor award at the most prestigious Filmfare Awards (South), Vijay Awards and Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards. His chemistry with Andrea Jeremiah in the lead role lauded praises from the audience.

Vasanth Ravi hails from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. In 2013 he got his first break from director Ram known for critically acclaimed films. However the film got delayed. Finally it received a theatric release in 2017 after a long lag of 2017. Things ended in a positive note when his role was appreciated and film became a box office hit too. His sensational debut helped him to mark his presence in the cine industry. Most recently he has bagged his second project with award winning director Mysskin. The film is touted to be an action thriller. He has received many offers from Tamil film industry, but he has turned selective.

Ravi is a doctor in profession. He was settled in Manchester, United Kingdom with his part-time doctor job when acting bug bit him. He completed his MBBS degree from Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai. Since the first year at college, he dreamed to become an actor. But it was not an easy task to try an alternative career while busy with medical studies. So, as suggested by his friends he completed his MBBS first, enrolled at Anupam Kher’s acting school at Mumbai for a diploma course in 2010-2011 and then started trying in films.
