Tina Munim Biography

Teena Munim, known as Teena Ambani is a popular actress of Bollywood during 1980’s. At present, she is the wife of Anil Ambani, who is engaged in some charity works like Harmony Foundation for senior citizens, Harmony Art Foundations to promote art and Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani group of hospitals, nursing college and medical research institute.

Teena Munim had represented India in International Teen Princess contest where she won Miss Photogenic and Miss Bikini acclamation. Director Dev Anand spotted her and cast in his movie Des Pardes in 1979. This multi-star cast movie was a hit that time and she decided to continue in films. She was casted again by Dev Anand in his consecutive projects man Pasand and Lootmaar. A girl in teens with pleasant smile was appreciated by Indian audience easily.

When Sanjay Dutt was launched in Bollywood through Rocky, she was casted opposite him. Rajesh Roshan composition ‘Kya yehi pyar hai’ is still a romantic number ruling millions of hearts. Then we saw a series of movies of Rajesh Khanna paired with Tina Munim. Rajesh Khanna was going through the bad phase of his career during 80’s and his surprise hit Southen, opposite Tina Munim helped him to sustain in the industry for a while. They together acted Fifty Fifty, Adhikar, Surag, Bewafai and a few more movies. In movies like Akhir kyon, though they worked together, they were paired with other actors. Tina Munim was paired with Rajesh Roshan. She handled negative role in that movie where she falls in love with her sister Smitha Patel’s husband, Rajesh Roshan.

She was appreciated in Bathon Bathon mein opposite Amol palekar and in a few movies opposite Rishi Kapoor. Yeh wada raha and Karz are still remembered for her cute smile and innocent looks. Songs were also extra ordinary. She fell in love with Rajesh Khanna that time. He was separated from Dimple Kapadia that time, though didn’t legally separated. He denied Tina’s proposal as he had hopes in Dimple’s return. With broken heart, Tina left film field and married Anil Ambani in 1991.

Time and age has brought a lot of changes in Tina. It’s very hard to identify old Tina Munim in present Tina Ambani. She is now enjoying a happy married life with one of the richest men of the world.
