Surender Reddy is an ace filmmaker associated with Telugu cinema at present. He also scripts his movies. He has delivered many blockbuster hits with superstars of Telugu cinema. Kick, Race Gurram, Athanokkade etc are some of his big film releases. These movies have claimed major awards in some of the prestigious film awards in different categories.  He made his directorial debut, Athanokkade with Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, for which he earned the prestigious Nandi awards for best debut director given by state government of Andhra Pradesh. Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is his upcoming project, which stars many leading actors of Bollywood and south Indian cinema, including Amitabh Bachchan.

His birth name is Patthi Surender Reddy. He was born on 7 December 1975 in Machanapalli Village, Karimnagar of present-day Telangana. He is active in Telugu film industry since 2005. He surprised everyone with his directorial debut - Athanokkade with Nandamuri Kalyan Ram as main lead and received rave reviews for his debut film. Its screenplay written by the director and thrilling pace helped to become a surprise hit at box office. It ran for 50 days in 80 centres and crossed 100 days in 46 centres. It was remade into Tamil as Aadhi and in Kannada as Lakshmana.

His second project was Ashok with N. T. Rama Rao Junior and Sameera Reddy in lead roles. This movie began his associated with ace screenwriter Vakkantham Vamsi, and the most successful film of their association is Kick starring Ravi Teja released in 2009. The movie was a runaway hit and declared a blockbuster. Later it was remade to Hindi with the same name, with Salman Khan playing the lead role. Oosaravelli, Race Gurram, Kick 2 and Dhruva are his other projects.
