Sunil Kariattukara Biography 
Sunil Kariattukara is a noted film director associated with Malayalam cinema. Worked as an assistant director in the industry for many years he directed two movies - Chacko Randaaman in 2006 and Pakida in 2015. He has worked as an assistant director to Rosshan Andrrews in his many movies such as Notebook, Evidam Swargamanu and Udayanaanu Tharam, and had a long term association with him for more than 6 years. He has also worked with many other directors of Malayalam film industry, and worked for movies like Pathemari, Smart City, Neythukaran, Smart City etc. He was a theatre artist before he turned a director.
Sunil Kariattukara hails from Kariattukara, Thrissur. He had passion towards art and cinema since young. Sunil started his career with theatre in the early 1990s and moved to film field in the early 2000s. As a theatre artist, he has worked with some of the prominent artists like Jain Joseph, K. Gireesh Kumar, Prem Prakash, K.V Ganesh etc in the 1990s. He also directed a plays. He was associated with some of the theatre groups such as Root Theatre, Thrissur. With late 1990s he decided to foray to films.
As an assistant director, he first worked for National award winning movie, Neythukaran directed by Priyanandanan. The movie also marked the directorial debut of Priyanandanan. Later Sunil worked under Rosshan Andrrews since 2005. Just co-incidence, the movie also marked the highly famed director’s directorial debut. He has been a part of almost all critically acclaimed films of the director throughout 2000s. All of these movies were commercially successful too. He also assisted B. Unnikrishnan, for the movies – Thriller, Pranami etc. After a couple of flops as a director, he returned back to assistant direction, and has worked under Salim Ahamed for two national award winning films - Adaminte Makan Abu and Pathemari.
