Sumit Gulati Biography

Sumit Gulati is a film actor associated with Bollywood, best known for supporting and character roles. He gained recognition and appreciation for the character role Kanhaiya in the highly acclaimed film, Talvar released in 2015. His brief role in the action flick, Baaghi (2016) was also appreciated. Commando 2: The Black Money Trail, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Phantom, Hindi Medium and Aligarh are some of the noted roles he played in Bollywood. His versatility and natural acting skills make him a critics’ favourite, who believe Gulati to have a promising career ahead.

Sumit Gulati was born on 8 May 1990 in Delhi. He was raised in Geeta Colony. Right from the childhood he has been interested in acting. He was more inclined towards theatre than academic studies, and he also works in Jhumroo for the past few years. Once he attended the Theatre in Education programme run by NSD, while he was studying at school, and since then acting and theatre became part of his life. He also joined an amateur theatre troupe while he was studying in class 9.

He lost his father very young and had the responsibility to look after his family at a younger age. With his mother’s permission, he also started attending theatre workshops and also asked a little time to see if things work favourable for him. Though he dreamt to pursue a career in theatre and acting, due to financial constraints he had to take up a job. However he couldn’t stay there so long and left it very soon. He reached Mumbai and started his film career by Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. His role as compounder in the movie Talvar got easily noticed and he stayed here in Mumbai.
