Suma Bhattacharya Biography

Suma Bhattacharya is a model, a beauty pageant winner and film actress, who works in south Indian film industry. She has been an Investment Banker before she forayed into films. She started her professional career with Credit Suisse in London as an Analyst, and now is a senior analyst at Samena Capital, Mumbai. Her entry to films was quite unexpected. A finalist in the Miss India World competition 2008, she won Miss India UK 2008, and thereafter she joined films. She is only a seasoned actor, but a professional Kathak dancer.

Suma hails from London, United Kingdom. But she is of Indian origin.  She is a trained Kathak dancer who performs on stage and has also conducted shows internationally. Suma got the privilege to perform at Royal Albert Hall, UK. She still continues her performance as a Kathak dancer. She started her career with banking and worked with Credit Suisse in London during her early days. Later she achieved success in modelling field, finished as a finalist in the Miss India World competition 2008, and was crowned Miss India UK 2008, when she decided to join film stream as well.

She was first seen in a Hindi telefilm, Like I Love You released in 2010. The following year she forayed into south Indian film industry. She got the offer to play the female lead in Telugu film, Kudirithe Cup Coffee opposite Varun Sandesh. The movie helmed by Ramana Salva received overall positive reviews, though couldn’t claim a great film. Same year she marked her debut with Tamil thriller, Muran written and directed by debutant Rajan Madhav. She played the character role of Linda. The movie received positive reviews and was declared a hit. However Suma hasn’t appeared in any film after that.
