Sreelakshmi Sreekumar Biography

Sreelakshmi Sreekumar is a newcomer of Malayalam film actress, best known as the daughter of legendary Malayalam comedian Jagathy Sreekumar. She is a successful TV anchor too. A native of Thiruvallam in the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram city, she has been active in the cultural programs since her childhood. She is to debut film scene with Fahadh Fazil starrer – Iyer in Pakistan. Her meeting with her father Jagathy Sreekumar at his first public appearance in 2015 after the car accident was quite dramatic, where she claimed that she was not allowed to meet her father by his family since the unfortunate accident occurred.

Sreelakshmi Sreekumar was born to Jagathy Sreekumar and his third wife Kala. Sreelakshmi is his second daughter. He was already married and he kept his secret marriage with Kala for years. They knew each other since 1980s and finally married secretly. He revealed his relationship with Kala only a few days before the fatal accident in his life, when he was on the verge of death. For the same reason Sreelakshmi was not accepted to Jagathy’s family till now and has created many dramatic events including her meeting with Jagathy in a public function in 2015, where the actress planted a kiss on his cheeks and spent 10 minutes with him on stage. 

Sreelakshmi Sreekumar schooled from Thiruvallam Christ Nagar School and Jagathy was not much interested to introduce her to acting field. He desired to make Sreelakshmi an IAS officer. After SSLC, she decided to prepare for IAS as her father’s ambition. She is a trained classical dancer and has won many prizes at school level competitions. She was offered a role for Satyan Antikad’s "Sneehaveedu", which she refused earlier. She decided to join films only after plus two. She has anchored two shows – ‘Isaimazhai' and 'Plus Events' both telecasted in Asianet Plus.
