Sreejaya Nair Biography 
Sreejaya Nair is an Indian film actress who appears in Malayalam films in a supporting role. She played younger sister’s role in numerous Malayalam films two decades back in the 1990s, and worked with almost all leading stars of the industry before she took hiatus. She returned back in 2018 after 18 years playing a few strong roles on Malayalam screen. She acted in Srinivasan starrer Aravindante Adhikal followed by Mohanlal starrer Odiyan and both these roles were well received by public. She played Thankamani Varasyar in Odiyan and a dancer’s role in Aravindante Adhikal.
Sreejaya is a trained classical dancer from the prestigious Kerala Kalamandalam of Thrissur, and currently teaches more than 500 students in her dance school, Sreejaya school of classical dance at Bangalore. So, when she got the role offer of a professional dancer for a Malayalam movie, she couldn’t say ‘no’. That’s how she returned to Malayalam screen, nearly after two decades.
She hails from Kothamangalam, born into a middle class family. She got admission to Kerala mandalam after she completed 7th grade studies in her village. Classes start at 4 am which continues till noon, and in the afternoon she attended regular school classes. Sometimes her classes may extend to 9 pm. After 10th standard, she did a one-year diploma course.
She never thought of a career in movies. But when film shooting of Kamaladalam was done at Kerala Kalamandalam, she was spotted by Sibi Malayil. Her first film was without any dialogues, and she started getting bit roles throughout 1990s which she accepted. Ponthanmaada, Lelam, Kanmadam, Summer in Bethlehem, Veendum Chila Veettukaryangal, Ponthanmada etc are some of her film roles in the 1990s.
She accepted the roles without thinking that they are mere sister roles. She played sister role of Mammootty, Mohanlal, Manju Warrier etc. She appeared in the cover of Vanitha magazine and got alliance from Madan’s family. After marriage she took a break from films and settled in Bangalore.
