Sree Dhanya Biography

Sree Dhanya is an award winning VJ who later reached big screen of Malayalam. She is a TV host, model, film actress and has also appeared in several ad films. She has been associated with Asianet as a star anchor for several shows and has done several quiz shows on television. She resembles actress Reenu Mathews.

She was born into a conservative family in Thrissur. She completed graduation from Vimala College, Thrissur. Her parents were not interested in media though she received many offers before marriage and she came to the field after her marriage. Hers is a love arranged marriage. Husband’s name is Rishikesh from Tripunithura. She met him for first time while doing graduation in Vimala College. He was studying in government engineering college, opposite to Vimala College. After marriage her husband was supportive and that’s how she reached entertainment industry. The couple has two children. She got her first TV offer for Sing n Win, Kairali TV while at Panampally Nagar Thrissur. She received the offer from Nikhil, the host of the show. But she didn’t accept.

Dhanya took a break from the industry to do PhD. She entered films as an experiment though she was not at all interested first. After two or three films, she became confident to accept more roles. She is to do her first lead role with the movie – Mummiyude Swantham Achoos, directed by debutant Raju Maker. She plays mother’s role in the movie. Earlier she appeared in movies like Left Right Left and has also shared screen space with megastar Mammootty in Manglish.
