Shreya Narayan Biography

Shreya Narayan is a Bollywood actress, writer and model. She has earlier worked in television, and is also associated with social services. Playing bit roles in Bollywood movies like Rajneeti, Tanu weds manu etc, her first noted appearance was Rockstar, where she played Jordan's (Ranbir Kapoor) sister-in-law. She played the role of Mahua in 2011 release, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster and also appeared in 2014 release - Samrat & Co. Super Nani is his upcoming release, where she appears as legendary actress Rekha’s daughter-in-law. Knowck out, Tanu weds Manu and Kuch Kariye are her other Bollywood movies. She has also written lyrics for one song for Madhuri Dixit starrer, Gulaab Gang in 2014. She is great grandniece of the first Indian president Dr Rajendra Prasad.

Shreya Narayan was born on 22 February 1985 in Bihar. Her father is a lawyer and principal of a law college and her mother is a History teacher. Her childhood was spent in Jaipur and Delhi. She started her Bollywood career playing bit roles in the late 2000s. Her role was chopped in Knock Out and Tanu Weds Manu. She attended numerous auditions before landing to Bollywood. Earlier she has done one Telugu film - Srivari Muchatlu. Saheb’s mistress Mahua of Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster was her first noticed role. Shreya was a last minute addition to the cast of Saheb Biwi aur Gangster. She also appeared in television ads like Pepsodent, Vodafone, Amul, Castrol, Axis Bank etc. She debut small screen with Yash raj films’ Power, portraying the character of Julie, a police informer.

 
Shreya is also known as a social worker and philanthropist. During Kosi river floods, she was associated with Rajneeti director Prakash Jha for Bihar Flood Relief Mission. Shreya is interested in poetry and has written lyrics for Bollywood movie, Gulaab Gang. This actress believes that ‘you are exploited till you become somebody’.
