Shivaji Guruvayoor Biography

Shivaji Guruvayoor is a noted theatre and film actor associated with Malayalam. Known for portraying negative roles, he has also excelled in positive roles. Most recently he was seen playing a grey shaded role of Kanchana's Uncle in Malayalam blockbuster – Ennu Ninte Moideen. Vachanam released in 1989 was his first film, which was an uncredited role. Arabi Katha released in 2007 was his first credited role. Though he is an acclaimed theatre artist, it was through movies he became popular. For this actor, theatre acting comes natural to him.

Shivaji was associated with theatre before he reached cinema. When he was offered a film role at first in the role of main villain by Lal Jose, he was willing to accept the role, but in one condition that he will act in the film during daytime and will be active at theater during nights. But the producer wanted him to go to gulf country to shoot for the movie. Later the producer convinced him to find a substitute and Shivaji taught him everything before he left India to gulf to face the camera for the first time in Arabian deserts for Lal Jose. The movie was Arabi Katha released in 2007 where he got noticed for antagonist’s role. Earlier Shivaji has done several uncredited roles on silver screen since late 1980s.

Later he played numerous character roles onscreen. Kadha Parayumbol, Veruthe Oru Bharya, Madambi, Mulla, Thirakatha, Pullipulikalum Aattinkuttiyum, Mulla, ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi, Ladies & Gentleman, Nidra, Spirit, Ennu Ninte Moideen, Sapthamasree Thaskaraha, Scene Onnu Nammude Veedu, Molly Aunty Rocks, Janakan, Pranchiyettan & the Saint, Emmanuel, Christian Brothers, Vellaripravinte Changathi, Indian rupee, Run Baby Run, Diamond Necklace and Diamond Necklace are some of his noted roles.
