Sharvani Pillai Biography

Sharvani Pillai is a well-known Marathi actress who appears in movies and TV shows. She is also a theatre artist who played lead role in Marathi Stage dramas - Makadachya Haati Champagne and Alibaba ani Chalishitale Chor. In 2010 she played a supporting role in Ajay Devgan starrer Bollywood film, Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge. Some of her Marathi movies are Tu Tithe Mee (1998), Jogwa (2008), Pangira (2010), A Paying Ghost, Patala Tar Ghya, Deool (2011) and Asehi Ekda Vhave (2018). She worked with National award winning director Rajiv Patil in the movies, Jogwa and Asehi Ekda Vhave. She has also worked in Duniya, Hindi comedy sitcom.

 

Sharvani Pillai was born on 25th June 1973 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She grew up in Mumbai where she completed her education. Right from college days she has been active in theatre. She is married to a Malayali, Unnikrishnan Pillai. She started her film career in 1998 with Marathi movie, Tu Tithe Mee. She made an impressive debut with this film, and very soon became one of the popular actresses of Marathi entertainment scene. In the career spanning to more than two decades, she has handled different types of character roles in movies and television.

 

Her role as Sanika in Avantika is one of her most memorable roles. She was mostly associated with television roles during her initial phase in Marathi entertainment industry, and was quite popular for her next-door girl look. As a television actress she is best known for her roles in Damini, Awantika, Tuza Ni Maza Ghar Shrimantacha and Ambat Goad. She is also a well-experienced theatre actress. She was also seen in the B Town film Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge along with Paresh Rawal and Ajay Devgan.
