Shalin Zoya Biography

Shaalin Zoya is a Malayalam film actress, Television actress, dancer and anchor from Tirur, Kerala. Zoya gained popularity for playing the role of Deepa Rani in Asianet TV's soap opera Autograph. She has also handled numerous supporting roles on Malayalam screen. Among her film roles, the role of Nithya in Mallu Singh is known most. She started her film journey as a child artist and has done brief roles in about 2 dozens of films. She is most familiar to Malayali viewers through the roles she essayed on small screen. She has also hosted a few kid shows on television. She got Vayalar Award for Best Child Artist for the film Elsamma Enna Aankutty.

 

Shaalin Zoya was born on 22 February 1997 in Tirur of Malapuram district, Kerala. She is nicknamed Shalu in her close friends’ circle. Fathima Saalin is her real name. Her father is a businessman and her mother is a dance teacher who gave her full support and motivation. She has one brother. She marked her acting debut in 2004 as a child artist through the movie, Quotation, and later appeared in brief roles in movies - Out of Syllabus, The Don, Oruvan, Oridathoru Puzhayundu, Vaasthavam, Soorya Kireedam etc. She played teenager roles in movies such as Elsamma Enna Aankutty, Swapna Sanchari, Rebecca Uthup Kizhakkemala, Visudhan etc. Badarul Muneer Husnul Jamal and Sadharanakkaran are her upcoming movies.

 

Zoya earned popularity and recognition through small screen. Autograph is her most popular TV series which helped to bag her Asianet Ayucare Television Award - Best New Face of the year and Kazhcha Television Award for Best Actress, both in year 2011. As a child anchor, she has hosted the shows - Just for kids (Kiran TV), Action Killadi (Kairali TV) and Super Star Junior (Amrita TV).
