Shakti Kapoor Biography

Shakti Kapoor is a Bollywood actor most famous for his villain roles. He has acted in many comic movies. His roles in Hero, Chal Baaz, Himmatwala, Aankhein, Karma, Jaabaaz, Mein khiladi tu anari, Judwa and Tohfa were noted mosted for negative shaded roles. His negative role in a comic style in the movie ‘Andaz apna apna’ was well noticed and thereafter, he concentrated on comic roles as well. His role as Nandu, the dearest friend of Govinda in the movie ‘Raja Babu’ is another role that he should be given full mark. In Insaaf, he did the role of an inspector in comic role.   

He debuted Bollywood during late 80’s and became a significant part of Bollywood during 80’s and early 90’s. His hit movies in villain’s role include Vijay, Mujrin, Karma, Ram Avatar, Pyar hi pyar, Dance dance, Jaabaaz,  Naseeb, Rocky and Qurbani. Shakthi Kapoor’s real name is Sunil Kapoor and was born to Punjabi family. He was born in Delhi. His villain role in Rocky, the debut movie of Sanjay Dutt was the turning point of his career. His role was well appreciated and very soon he became the most sought villain during 1980’s. Himmatwala and Hero are other two blockbuster hits that helped him to establish as the best villain during that period. Other hits include Qurbani, Satyameva Jayathe and aag hi aag.

Later he shifted towards character and comic roles and movies that we witnessed Shakti in this role include Sajan Chalo Sasural, Naughty at 40, Chup chupke, Malamal lottery, Zubeidaa, Hulchul, Musafir, Haan meine bhi pyar kiya, Bhagam bhag, Nehle pe dehla and Dan dana dan. He did comic roles for numerous Priyadarshan movies in the recent times. He has also done guest appearance in Priyadarshan’s Malayalam flick of 2012 – Arabiyum Ottakavum Pinne Madhavan Nairum.

During 2005, Shakthi Kapoor got caught under the camera asking sexual favour from a girl, to give an opportunity in the movies. Actually it was a trick played by cable channel and the television reporter was sent as per their plan.

Shakti Kapoor’s daughter has landed in movies. Though her first two flicks, Teen patti and Luv ka the end couldn’t do better at box office, her third movie ‘Aashique 2’ became a blockbuster in 2013.
