Shaheen Khan Biography

Shaheen Khan is a successful model, better known as ‘Fair & Lovely Girl’ of late 1990s and early 2000s. She is quite familiar to Indian audience after she featured in ‘Fair & Lovely’ ad. A successful model who has been featured in several ads and music albums, Shaheen also played a few film roles. She has acted in all south Indian language films. She made her film debut in all south Indian films with protagonist roles with same character name – ‘Sandhya’, only exception being Malayalam where she played the character role of ‘Sana’ in 2001 film – Darling Darling, starring Dileep, Kavya madhavan and Vineeth. For the same reason she is also known by the name, Sandhya.

She played the protagonist with the character name Sandhya in three films belonging to different languages, in a row. She played the same role in all the three films. In fact all these movies are her debut films, a striking co-incidence. She made her film debut with 2000 Telugu film, Chirunavvutho where she played the lead role of Sandhya. It was followed by Kannada debut - Premakke Sai (2001) and Tamil debut – Youth (2002) and in all these movies she reprised the role she played in the original, with character name, Sandhya. Youth and Premakke Sai were the remakes of Chirunavvutho. Youth, where she was paired with youth icon Vijay was a major hit at box office. She also played a brief role in Eera Nilam released in 2003.

She played a brief role in English Indian film - Bend It Like Beckham - Mrs. "Sukhi" Kaur Bhamra. She also appeared in It's a Wonderful Afterlife, directed by Gurinder Chadha. As a film actress she is best known for playing lead role in Youth, opposite Vijay. She reprised her Telugu film role in its Tamil and Kannada versions. Its songs have been instant chartbusters. She has also appeared in a popular music video of Shankar Mahadevan - Aao Josh Mein.
