Sathyasiva Biography

Sathyasiva is a Tamil film director who made an impressive debut with 2012 movie Kazhugu and made two decent films - Sivappu (2015) and Savaale Samaali (2015) in the recent times. In the past four years he has delivered only three movies. Bindu Madhavi played lead role in his debut flick Kazhugu and Savaale Samaali, his latest release. This director has made a niche for himself with his hard-hitting portrayal of real life through his movies and also power packed performance by its leading actors. He is a huge fan of classic old films and films close to reality.

Sathaysiva made his directorial debut with Kazhugu (2012). Though the movie received mixed response from critics, this small film has definitely made a small impact on audience. Kreshna and Bindu Madhavi played the lead roles in this romantic tale, and he was appreciated by critics for his fresh and new attempt. The film had a grip and engaging script and definitely a good attempt from a newcomer. Andhi Mazhai Megam, a story revolving around the lives of Sri Lankan refugees was his second film. Telugu actor Naveen Chandra and Rupa Manjari played the lead roles. Though started its production work soon after the release of his debut work in 2012, the delayed project was released only in 2015 with new title ‘Sivappu’ and opened to average reviews.

By that time, he had already started his third project – a comedy film, quite different from the previous two movies in genres. The movie was titled Savaale Samaali. The comedy elements were added by the actors Jegan, Urvasi, and Manobala, with title roles being played by Krishna Sekhar and Bindu Madhavi. He also started a project Thalapakatti – the remake of Malayalam National award winning movie ‘Ustad Hotel’, starring Vikram Prabhu, Nazriya Nazim and Rajkiran. But the movie got shelved.
