Sathish Ninasam Biography

Shivakumar, known by his screen name Sathish Ninasam is a popular Kannada actor who shot to fame playing the title role of Nikhil in the highly acclaimed Kannada film – Lucia (2013), which was later remade to Tamil as Enakkul Oruvan starring Siddharth and Deepa Sannidhi. His role was reprised by Siddharth in the new version. Sathish’s acting was highly praised by the critics. After playing numerous character and comic roles, Lucia marked his new beginning as a lead actor. Since then he played protagonist in a few movies like Dyavre, Anjada Gandu, Kwatle Sathisa, Love in Mandya and the most recent Rocket, where he played the role of a producer also. Anjada Gandu is Sathish Neenasam's first commercial film as a solo hero.

Shivakumar belongs to a farmer’s family in Yeladahalli village near Mandya, in Mandya district in Karnataka. He used to watch films since childhood. He started off as a stage actor with local theater in Ninasam. He also completed a 2-year diploma course in acting. Inspired by great theater/film personalities like Karanth and Karnad, he performed in plays across Karnataka and reached Bangalore in 2006. He joined a theater group Samashti Theatre Group while at Bangalore.

Very soon he got offers from television and appeared in Kannada serials like Paramapada, Takadimitha and Silli Lalli. He made his film debut in 2008 with a cameo role in Madesha. After that he started playing bit roles in Kannada movies where he excelled in comic roles most. Manasaare, Pancharangi, Lifu Ishtene and Drama need special mention. 2012 movie, Drama earned a nomination at SIIMA Award for Best Comedian. But with the 2013 hit – Lucia, his life turned forever and later he received lead roles. With the 2014 movie, Love in Mandya he received his first nomination for best actor at SIIMA Awards. He has also debut his career as a playback singer and has sung for the movies - Anjada Gandu and Rocket.
