Sathaar Biography

Sathaar is a Malayalam film actor who was most active in the era of 1980’s. He played lead roles as well as supporting roles and has also played negative roles. He was first married to leading Malayalam actress of 1970’s, Jayabharathi and the young actor, Krish J. Sathaar is born in this wed lock. It was her second marriage. But Sathaar divorced Jayabharathi and married again. He has been absent from the film screen for a long period and made his comeback in a character role in 2012 movie, 22 Female Kottayam. Lelam in 1997 was his last movie before he took a break from acting field to concentrate on to business career. Now he is active in film industry doing character roles. He has also produced three Malayalam movies – Kambolam, Black mail and Revenge.

His full name is Abdul Sathaar and he reached Malayalam film industry through Vincent Master’s movie. Year 1975. He was studying in Aluva UC College for post-graduation when he got his first film role. He sent his photos when he read and ad seeking young actors for an upcoming movie. He played lead role of Vincent’s Anavaranam in 1975. Though he got break to film field, he never dreamt that he was to become a part of the film industry. For the same reason, he didn’t give it much importance. Then he appeared in a series of movies throughout 1970’s and 1980’s which include both lead roles and supporting roles and a few villain roles.

Sarapancharam in 1979 was one of his earliest major breaks of film industry, where he played the role of a young man named Prabhakaran who helps Sheela to kill the villain-hero of the movie, Jayan. This movie broke all collection records of Malayalam cinema till then and established Jayan as a rising star. It marked the successful beginning of Sathaar’s career as well. Revenge, Ottayan, Kadamba, Aaranyam, Ahimsa, Ee Nadu, Puthiya Karukkal, Lisa, Avanazhi, Lava, Shakti, Belt Mathai and Adiyozhukkukal are a few more memorable roles of his career.
