Santhosh Jogi Biography

Santhosh Jogi was a film actor and singer belonging to Malayalam cinema, known for portraying character roles. He played antagonist in blockbuster hit of Mammootty – Mayavi in 2007. The role of a military officer in Mohanlal starrer Keerthichakra in 2007 is his next noticed best work. This talented actor committed suicide in 2010 due to his financial troubles. He was survived with his wife and two daughters. 2004 Malayalam movie, Two Wheeler was his debut movie and within a short period of 6 years, he played varying roles in about 30 movies. He dreamt to become a director and script was almost ready, a few days before he was found hanging at his friend’s flat in Thrissur.

Santhosh Jogi was born on June 25, 1975 in Eravimangalam. Purathu Sethumadhavan and Komattil Malathi Amma were his parents. He completed his education from Pune and started his career as a singer with local musical troupes. He married Jijy in 2001 and the couple had two daughters. He made his film debut with 2004 movie – Two wheeler. Since his film debut he regularly performed in stage shows in different countries as a singer. Mayavi and Keerthichakra are his best performances onscreen. Since the success of mayavi, he portrayed grey shaded roles on screen several times.

He dreamt to become a director and took loans to make short films. But things didn’t work. Due to debts, he ended his life leaving behind his family. Rajamanikyam, Pokkiri Raja, Mulla, Christian Brothers, Ali Bhai, Pulijanmam, Balram vs. Taradas, Big B, Nazrani and Khaki are a few more film roles. He appeared in many action movies of both Mohanlal and Mammootty.
