Samidha Guru Biography

Samidha Guru is a well-known Marathi actress, who works in movies, theatre and television. She is known to be an extremely talented actress, with multiple awards for her acting skills. She received Maharashtra State's Best Actress Award for the movie - Kapuskondyachi Goshta in 2014. She also received MMW Gaurav Awards for Best Actress for the stage play Get Well Soon. She is also into acting and writing. She started her professional career through television, and later forayed into Marathi big screen.

 

Samidha Guru was born in Nagpur, Maharashtra on 6 August 1980. She belongs to a family with strong art and theatre background. Her father Suresh Deshpande was a noted writer and director of Marathi plays & films, while her mother Meena Deshpande is a Katahk dancer and teacher. Her sister Mrunal Deshpande is a Kathak Visharad and a known actress. Samidha is married to Marathi writer and filmmaker Abhijit Guru, and the couple has one kid. She completed her schooling and graduation from Nagpur and she is graduated in microbiology.

 

In those days she was involved in theatre, and after studies she took teaching job. She relocated to Mumbai only after marriage, and got her first break to small screen. She made her acting debut on television through Soniyacha Umbara which went unnoticed. As an actress she got the first break through the TV show Avaghachi Sansar. Her role as an angry young woman was well appreciated and she received more acting roles from television. Along with her television career, she was active in theatre as well. She also appeared in movies. As a film actress, her roles in Kaydyaach Bola, Majha Mee, Dhating Dhingana ,Panhala and Tukaram were well received.
