Sai Deodhar Biography

Sai Deodhar is a popular television actress associated with Hindi entertainment industry. She is the daughter of National award winning female film director of Marathi cinema, Shrabani Deodhar and cinematographer Debu Deodha. She is married to popular television actor, Shakti Anand. Sai is best known for essaying the roles of Flight Lt. Monica Singh in Saara Akaash and Ananya Sachdev in Ek Ladki Anjaani. Barkha Ram Ahuja Kapoor in Dil Ki Baatein Dil Hi Jaane, Kasturi in Udaan, Devayani in Upanishad Ganga, Ishwari in Kashi and Debonita in Kasautii Zindagii Kay are other noted roles. She played the role of Sub-Inspector Priyanka in the popular investigation series – CID, aired on Sony television.

Sai Deodhar was born in Pune, Maharashtra on 21 April 1984. Born into a film family, she too joined entertainment field. Her mother Shrabani Deodhar is a prominent film director and her father Debu Deodha was a cinematographer known for the works of award winning films - Kairee (1999) and Daayraa (1996). Sai after studies moved to Mumbai where she started her professional career as a model. 'Saara Akaash' marked her acting debut in television, and later she married her co-star of the show, Shakti Anand. The couple was blessed by a baby girl in 2011.

She appeared as a child actress for her mother’s debut film as a director, 'Lapandav'. The movie bagged national award for best regional film in Marathi language for the year 1993. She played sister to the main protagonist in the film. Later she continued with her studies before her debut as an adult actress through television shows. She has also participated in the celebrity dance show – Nach Baliye. She played the mother of six year old protagonist for the show Udaan.
