Saheb Chatterjee Biography

Saheb Chatterjee is a singer and actor associated with Bengali entertainment industry. He is associated with plays, movies and television, playing lead and supporting roles. He is specialized in Rabindra Sangeet. He currently plays the male lead Dr. Porimal Mitra in the popular TV series - Goyenda Ginni aired on Zee Bangla. He also plays the pivot role of singer Sujon Kumar, in the series Potol Kumar Ganwala aired on Star Jalsha. As a film actor, Hemlock Society (2012), Hitlist (2009) and Ekti Rahasya Galpo (2013) are among his noted roles. He has rendered his voice for the movies - Mon Amour: Shesher Kobita Revisited, Megh Brishti Khela, Megh Brishti Khela etc.

 

Also pronounced as Saheb Chattopadhyay, he was born in Kolkata is a film and stage actor. He is a trained singer and is equally verse in acting also. As a stage actor, Vivekananda is one of his most popular stage plays that has been successfully staged in India and abroad. He essayed the lead role of Vivekananda for the play, while Dubai-based actress Dana Djani enacted the role of Sister Nivedita. The play was staged in Sydney, Dubai and many other foreign cities.

 

The man of all seasons, he released his solo album dedicated to the relationship between Rabindranath Tagore and his sister-in-law, Kadambari Devi. He has released numerous albums on Rabindra sangeet. For the upcoming flick – Mahanayika, he is to appear onscreen in a new avatar. He plays the role of a rich man's flamboyant son who falls in love with Rituparna Sengupta. Soumitra Chatterjee plays his father’s role. To give an urban look to his role, he pierced his ears, coloured his hair and sports a stylish tattoo also. Jogajog, Gogoler Kirti and Bachchan are his recent Bengali releases.
