Rubina Bajwa Biography

Rubina Bajwa is a Punjabi actress of present generation. She is a Canadian-born Indian actress. Punjabi film Sargi marked her screen debut in 2017, where she shared screen space with Jassi Gill and Babbal Rai. The movie was directed by Rubina Bajwa's sister Neeru Bajwa, her first film as a director. Rubina made an impressive debut in his romantic drama film and bagged Best Female Actress Debut in 2018 in the PTC Punjabi Film Awards. She was also nominated at Filmfare awards in Punjabi in best female debutant category.

Rubina Bajwa was born on 24 February 1982 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Her elder sister Neeru Bajwa, who was also born in Canada in 1980, is an established actress of Punjabi cinema. Rubina followed the footsteps of her elder sister and joined acting field. In fact it was a late entry to the field of acting as she was already 35 years old, when her first movie, Sargi got released. After her debut she got a bunch of film offers from Punjabi cinema, and she stayed here.

Her second release was Laavaan Phere in 2018. Year 2019 was very good for Rubina, as she had a total of 4 releases, all in lead roles. Those movies are Munda Hi Chahida, Laiye Je Yaarian, Nanka Mel and Gidarh Singhi. She also made a guest appearance in the movie, Dil Diyaan Gallan the same year. She was paired with Harish Verma for the movies, Munda Hi Chahida and Laiye Je Yaarian, both released in 2019. Laiye Je Yaarian earned a total of 11 crores at box office and became the ninth highest-grossing Punjabi film of 2019.
