Rosshan Andrrews Biography

Rosshan Andrrews is a successful director of Malayalam cinema. He is most known for making just one movie in one or two years and gives a finest movie to film lovers. From the first movie ‘Udayananu tharam’ in 2006 itself, audience expects a lot from Rosshan Andrrews movies. The reason is that his movies are most based on social issues and contain good message plus a good entertaining package. Except Casanova with Mohan Lal all his movies till now have become big success at the box office. In fact, his movie ‘Udayananu tharam’ with Mohan Lal and Srinivasan is regarded as the trend settler during middle 2000’s. This was his debut movie only.

His second movie ‘Note book’ also gave a social message and good parenting tips and the movie was made on the subject of teenage love, pregnancy and accidental death due to abortion. This movie was an eye opener to all parents and gave them message that they should be friendly with their children so that kids feel it free to share everything with them. His other movies are Mumbai police starring Pritviraj in leading role and Evidam swargamanu, again with Mohan Lal Srinivasan team. Till now he has done only 5 films, yet regarded as one among the finest directors of Malayalam. He is now busy with two movies – How old are you? Starring Kunchakko Boban And Guinness Gilbert starring super star Dileep.  In fact he is working with these two leading stars of Malayalam industry for the first time.

Rosshan Andrrews started his career as an assistant director for movies during late 90’s and super hit movies include Narasimham (2000) and Ayaal katha ezhuthukayaanu (1998). He has also worked as assistant director for Hitler brothers in 1997. He has also done a cameo role in Kamal’s movie Pachakuthira in the year 2006. For his debut movie as director, he won Kerala State Film Award for Best Debut Director. His second movie ‘Note book’ accumulated a lot of awards including Kerala State Film Award for second best film and Filmfare for best director. His third movie Ivium Swargamanu won Kerala State Film Award for Best Popular Film. This movie teaches us to love nature and not kill it for building concrete buildings. Casanova is regarded as the most expensive Malayalam film made till then and it was a disaster at box office. People couldn’t accept Mohan Lal as a Casanova with lot of love affairs!
