Roshan Mathew Biography

Roshan Mathew is a budding actor associated with Malayalam cine industry, best known for his second flick, Aanandhan released in 2016. The movie also marked the screen debut of a series of teenagers who played college students in this film. Roshan Mathew played the memorable role of a rock singer in the film, and his role was well appreciated. He was one among the male leads of the movie. Puthiya Niyamam in 2016 marked his screen debut the same year, and both these films were box office hits. He was seen in a brief role in 2015 film Adi Kapyare Kootamani earlier. He played the role of Nazriya Nazim’s boyfriend and singer in 2018 flick, Koode.

 

Roshan hails from Changanassery, Kottayam. He was born into a Christian family. His father Mathew Joseph is a bank manager in Canara Bank. His mother Regina Augustine is a retired PWD engineer. He did his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kottayam after which he enrolled at the prestigious CUSAT engineering college in Kochi. After one year he discontinued his engineering studies and studied physics from Madras Christian College in Chennai. He got interested in acting during his second year at college, and to pursue a career in acting he moved to Mumbai to study a drama course.

 

He made his acting debut in a web series Tanlines in 2015, and played a brief role in Adi Kapyare Kootamani. Puthiya Niyamam starring Mammootty and Nayanthara is credited as his debut film. He played a negative role as one among the rapists in the movie. With his parallel lead role of Rockstar Gautham in Aanandam, he came to limelight once again. He played the titular role of Mansoor in Viswasapoorvam Mansoor (2017) and one among the male leads in Matchbox. Orayiram Kinakkalal, Koode and Moothon are other works.
