Riyaz Khan Biography

Riyaz Khan is a popular actor of big screen. He works for south Indian movies most, in the role of villain and supporting roles. Among his roles, his police officer roles are widely popular. Hindi and Tamil versions of Gajani is the best example. He was born as a Keralite, yet works for all south Indian languages and Hindi.  

His other memorable roles in Malayalam movies include Pokkiri raja, Mumbai police, Karma yodha, Pachuvum Kovalanum, Yes your honour, Rahasya police, Target, Run way, Mayilaattom, 5 fingers, Kochi rajavu, Jalolsavam, Symphony, Vajram, Balettan, Grand master, Mr. Marumakan, Simhasanam and Casanova. His other noted performances include - Thirunakkara Perumal, Oru Nunakadha, Lion, Highway Police, Immini Nalloral, Subhadram, Ennum Sambavami Yuge Yuge,Bada dosth, The hit list,  Rakkilikal, Pauran, Shambu, Vesham,  Sukham Sukhakaram, Duplicate, July 4, Isra, Avan, The Speed Track and Red alert.  In majority of Malayalam movies, he handled either negative roles or police inspector roles. He has worked with Dileep and Mohan lal in majority of movies. His best Tamil movies include – Thirupathi, Badri, Baba, Ottraan, Sura, Gajani, Kutti pisasu, Aadhavan, Seena Thaana 001, Power of women, Ramana, Winner, Jagan mohini, Arasaangam, Narakasuran, Yathumaagi, Maanja velu, Maambattiyan and Payum puli. He has worked with almost all leading stars of Tamil including Vijay and Ajith, though he handled villain or supporting actor’s role. He has also worked for Telugu movie Stalin.

Riyaz Khan entered the film industry with the movie – Sukham Sukhakaram. This Malayalam movie was directed by Bala Chandra Menon in the year 1994, where he, himself and Urvasi played leading roles. Riyaz Khan played supporting actor role in this movie. But later, he went to other South Indian languages. Yet he was most busy with Tamil movies. His comeback movie was Mohan lal’s Baalettan. In this successful movie with melodious songs, he handled negative role. From there on, he was type casted as a bad boy. Not only that, Gajani fame framed him as an inspector too and despite owning a very good face, he always gets supporting actor’s or villain’s roles.   

Now, he is the brand ambassador of a Chennai based fitness studio called 'Inshape health & fitness. He is married to actress Uma Riyaz.
