Rima Kallingal Biography 
Rima Kallingal is an Indian actress and a model who concentrates in Malayalam film industry. She entered the film industry in the year 2009 and works in Malayalam and Tamil films.
She was born on 19th January 1984 in Thrissur in Kerala. Her father’s name is Ashokan Kallingal. She started to practice dancing at her age of three and has danced in many places in India and abroad. She completed her school education at Chinmaya Vidyalaya at Thrissur and obtained her bachelor’s degree in journalism.
She took part in the Asianet reality show titled Vodafone Thakadhimi and could proceed until the semi-final. She wanted to try her luck at modeling and so she came to Bangalore searching for some chances. At that time she participated in the Miss Kerala beauty pageant and ended up as the first runner up.
She was featured on the cover of a magazine which caught the attention of the director Lal Jose who gave her an opportunity to act in the Tamil film titled Mazhai Varappoguthu. However, this turned an incomplete project and then she got the chance to act in the film Ritu directed by Shyamaprasad which turned out to be her debut film.
Her film Neelathamara shot her into limelight and got her name and fame as well as chances to act in many more films in Malayalam and Tamil languages. Some of the films that she has acted include Nidra, Unnam, Orkut Oru Ormakoot, Indian Rupee, Sevenes, Yuvan Yuvathi, Shankaranum Mohananum, Ko, 22 Female Kottayam, Ritu, Kerala Café, Neelathamara, Happy Husbands, Best of Luck, City of God, etc.
Rima has stated that she would continue to act in films after marriage. She also said on a social networking site prior to her wedding that she would not be wearing any gold for the function as a protest against the dowry system.
