Reshma (tamil Actress) Biography

Reshma is a noted actress associated with Tamil film industry. She has been active in the film scene since mid-1990s, and Ennai Thalatta Varuvala (2003) was her last film released. Later she disappeared from film scene. She played female lead in the delayed release - Ennai Thalatta Varuvala, where Ajith played a cameo role. She was paired with Vignesh for this film.

She made her film debut with 1996 film, Kizhakku Mugam opposite Karthik. She appeared in the film when Karthik shined as one of the top heroes of Tollywood. She played the title role of Poongodi, daughter of the village president in this film. The movie was released alongside Ullathai Allitha, another Karthik film on 15 January 1996. The movie received moderate success from box office and she started receiving film roles.  Kalanjiyam's Poomani was her next flick, and the movie was released the same year. The movie marked Kalanjiyam’s directorial debut and was a major hit. The film starred Murali and Devayani in the lead roles, and Reshma and Prakash Raj in the supporting roles. Its music was scored by Ilayaraja.

Though her first two releases became profitable at box office, many of her delayed projects virtually ended her career. Her last release - Ennai Thalatta Varuvala (2003) was originally started in 1996 with the title – Vennila. The movie originally starred Ajith in the lead role. But the movie suffered financial problems and was shelved. Later when the movie got released in 2003, Ajith who appeared in the film was already a star in Tamil cinema. By that time Reshma has already left film scene.  Nandha featuring Ramki was one such delayed project which never got a theatric release.
