Ramanaw Mallam Biography

Ramanaw Mallam is a filmmaker and screenwriter associated with south Indian films. He works in Telugu and Tamil cinema, and is to debut as an independent filmmaker in the year 2018. He has previously assisted many award winning filmmakers like Cheran, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Vikram Kumar. Currently he is doing one Tamil-Telugu film titled Vaalu Jada / Kuzhali, with Vijay Deverakonda of Arjun Reddy fame in the lead role. The movie marks Mallam’s debut as an independent director. He works as associate director and dialogue writer in south Indian film industry since 2012.

Ramanaw was born on 24 February 1973 in Hyderabad, Telangana. He holds a post-graduation in commerce from Osmania University. During his graduation years at Dr. B. R Ambedkar College, he used to write a lot of stories. During those years, he worked as Programme head in a News Channel and Special Correspondent in a Music channel. Tamil film, Gentleman directed by Shankar inspired him a lot during his younger days, and he dreamt to choose filmmaking as his profession since then. He met ace director Gautham Vasudev Menon and worked as his associate director for a couple of movies. Gautham played a mentor’s role in Ramanaw’s film career later.

After his association with Gautam Menon, he co-directed the film Manam with Vikram Kumar, and also worked with director Cheran for the movie, Yemito Ee Maaya, as an associate and dialogue writer. In 2015 he announced his first independent project with Vijay Deverakonda and Reshmi Menon in lead roles. The movie titled Vaalu Jada is delayed for some unknown reasons, and hope to get released in 2018. The romantic thriller is being made in Telugu and Tamil languages. As per latest buzz, the movie stars Naveen Sanjay and Dhansika in lead roles.
