Rajat Rawail Biography

Rajat Rawail is a film producer, director and actor associated with Bollywood. As a producer, Ready (2011), Bodyguard (2011) and Rowdy Rathore (2012) were instant hits. All these masala movies were south Indian remakes. In 2013, he was a member of reality TV Show Bigg Boss 7, though he got evicted on second week. Rawail is best known for making Bollywood blockbusters with Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. Rawail has also directed two movies - Zameer: The Awakening of a Soul and Dil Ne Phir Yaad Kiya. He played the role of Tsunami Singh in his production ventire – Bodyguard and has also appeared in a few more Bollywood movies.

Rajat was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He is married to Bhavna Dhowan Rawail, and the couple has a daughter. He started his career working as an assistant under Ramesh Sippy of Sholay fame in the early 1990s. He turned a director in the late 1990s. Following his failure as a director, he moved to producer field and became successful. He is also a seasoned actor.

Though he entered the controversial show on Colors' - Bigg Boss- 7 house with all the enthusiasm, his deteriorated health pulled him out within 2 weeks. He said he started missing his daughter too much and was not really prepared for the show. He said he would appear in the finals of the show with good health. He performed when in all activities of the house the first week and wanted to entertain others as well. However things started getting bad for him as he suffered health problems.

Though the producer planned to remake Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Kalia’ and bought its rights, he has abandoned the project right now. Now he plans to produce a comedy film. The actor has been has been roped in to play an important role in the Ameesha Patel starrer Desi Magic. He has earlier acted in films like Bodyguard and Gali Gali Chor Hai.
