Rajat Bedi Biography

Rajat Bedi is a popular Bollywood actor known for portraying supporting and negative roles. He has also played lead role in a few movies. He is best known for the movie - Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani, where he played the male protagonist. Manisha Koirala played the single female lead of this multi-star cast movie inspired from 1979 movie with the same title. During the first phase of his career, he played body double of Shah Rukh Khan in the action sequences of 1990 movies like Karan Arjun, Duplicate etc. A former model, Rajat is a winner of Gladrags Man Hunt contest.

 
Rajat is the son of Bollywood director, Narender Bedi known for the movies Jawani Diwani (1972), Rafoo Chakkar (1975), Khhotte Sikkay (1974) etc. His grandfather Rajendra Singh Bedi has been a prominent Urdu writer and screenwriter who wrote the excellent film scripts like Ek Chadar Maili Si and Abhimaan. Rajat’s brother Manik Bedi has also acted in a few movies.

Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!, Jaan-E-Mann, Rocky, International Khiladi, The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, Indian, Ab ke baras, Chor Machaaye Shor, Ans, Aksar, Rakht, Khushboo, Koi Mil gaya, Partner and The train are some of his noted performances in supporting and negative roles. He played Jividha Sharma’s brother’s role in 2002 hit movie, Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa. He played a commendable job as baddie, Raj Saxena in mega blockbuster Koi Mil Gaya.

He started his career as a body double of Bollywood in the mid-1990s. He made his acting debut in the year 1998 with 2001: Do Hazaar Ek, where he co-starred Tabu and Jackie Shroff. Akshay Kumar-Twinkle Khanna starrer International Khiladi was his first noticed work, where he portrayed the pivot role of inspector Amit. Later he got noticed for the negative roles he played onscreen – heroine’s brother in Yeh Dil Aashiqana, Munna Bhai in Ansh, Tamil flick Gajendra and Jaani Dushman are among those.
