Rahul Ramakrishna Biography

Rahul Ramakrishna is a Telugu film actor and writer and journalist, who shot to fame playing the pivot role of Shiva, Vijay Deverakonda’s friend in critically well acclaimed and blockbuster hit, Arjun Reddy (2017). Since then he has received a handful of film roles and quite busy in the film industry. He has also worked as a lyricist and playback singer in Telugu film industry. Mithai, Inttelligent, Husharu, Bharat Ane Nenu, Sammohanam, Geetha Govindam, Chi La Sow etc among his recent flicks which happened after Arjun Reddy. In 2018 he also appeared in Amazon Original Telugu web series – Gangstars.

Rahul Ramakrishna was born on 15 January 1991 in Secunderabad, present day Telangana. Currently he is settled in Hyderabad. His father was a yoga instructor and his mother is an assistant editor for a business magazine. Rahul pursued mechanical engineering, but quit studies in between. Rahul began his career as a journalist and worked for a few dailies before he switched to cine field. In cine world, he carried different kinds of roles – from acting to writing lyrics and singing. He also worked as a translator and also reviewed movies while he was associated with journalism.

As an actor he had a brief stint with theatre and got interested in acting. That’s how he got into acting. He appeared in a few acting workshops which proved to be a turning point of his career. He was first seen in a short film, Sainma directed by Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam in 2014. His acting talent got noticed and he got more roles from Telugu cinema. He played a comic role in Jayammu Nischayammu Raa and also wrote a few dialogues, marking a new beginning in cinema.
